Convo Deadlift: 1@435/198, 1@485/220, 1@525/239, 1@535/243
GHR: 2×8@bw, 1×14@bw
Abs: 2×10@4kg medicine ball, actually 20 reps as you toss the ball back and forth and only count the ball reps
Todays highlights, includes my 525 and 535 deadlifts as well as lifts by Jamie, Jeff and Ryan Fowler.
So after I got to the gym I decided to do a second week of ME deadlifting and I’m glad I did. My 435 pull was double overhand again and I was able to hold it a little longer at the top so I guess I keep getting stronger on the grip stuff. 485 was slower and I was worried that I wouldn’t even be able to pull what I’d done last week. Upped to 525 and the pull was again slow but I ground it out and was happy. I decided to goto 535 and use my belt and try to get my shoulders back further at the start. I think 535 was faster than even my 485 pull, with only a slight pause before lockout just to get my shoulders back all the way. I will now call this my first “good” pull at 535. We got videos of at least the 525 and 535 pulls so once those are done I will link them.
After my first two sets of GHRs Jamie told me he was going for 30 reps total so I decided to go all out and do it on my third set instead of having to do a fourth. Man walking after that was just HARD.
Nice deadlifting!
Awesome new pr Stinn. And I see you’ve changed that sidebar. It sounds like what you set out to do in this cycle, increase your dl, is happening.
Yeah… great job on the deadlift PR, Stinn!
I think there are basically two ways to increasing the deadlift…
The conjugate method of breaking the lift down into muscle groups and working them with various lifts, which you are doing…
And just plain deadlifting, which I am doing…
I’m sure we’ll arrive at a consensus when all is said and done.
